Good food and prices
Really good food perfectly prepared excellent service
Always good food and accommodating and pleasant staff.
The food here in the village cafe is consistently great. My wife and I are regulars. We enjoy the owner she is friendly and always checks in on everyone. But recently I have noticed a problem during this pandemic time. The waitress consistently takes people’s food on a tour of the outside seating area. She will have plates to deliver to a table but stop and talk with other patrons holding other people’s food a couple feet away from someone else’s face. I noticed that a few weeks ago and again today. In fact twice today. I would rather she make a beeline to deliver the food and then she can answer questions for other people. That’s just my rant.
From their breakfast burritos, to having a soyrizo option and now making my request (which I’m so grateful for) Chilaquiles!!! Awesome staff and amazing service with food that never disappoints! A cute little cafe that is a must visit!
Seated and waited on immediately. Friendly hellos. Food was perfect. Could use some sprucing up. The look and feel is a bit worn.
my favorite breakfast spot!
Everything you wanted in a hometown feeling. Great food, people, atmosphere and an opportunity to slow down and enjoy life.
Favorite local place for breakfast and lunch. Great food and the staff are super friendly. Ask for Kat and Spencer!
Great food, friendly staff, great service! Looks to be a locals hangout but visitors are welcomed warmly. Stopped in for breakfast based on Google reviews and was not disappointed at all. Good sized portions at a reasonable price. We had coffee at the table literally the second that we had asked for it. The chicken fried steak was perfect!
EXCELLENT food, efficient service, excellent food... Yes, I said it TWICE
Great food, great service!
Delicous food and fantastic service!
Our first time. It was great! Now it's gonna be our new hangout. It was pretty loud, people talking everywhere, and it was expected. Phenomenal!
Best Breakfast on the Village! Everyone that works here is so Helpful and Romeo will keep your coffee cup filled!
Great food and excellent service, I ordered the Mexican scramble with flour tortillas
Family owned place. Great food! Staff very friendly. Very clean. Prices are fair. Support local businesses?? Support this one!!!!
Great local place. Good food and always friendly.
Great Ruben sandwich. Cook is fun to talk to. I like to sit at counter when by myself. He engages in conversation. Food is very good. Only thing they could use a paint job inside to spruce it up. Nice employees. I will keep coming back. Try their pancakes. They are terrific.
My wife and I love this little spot. The owner really sets the pace and is always available for some quick conversation and a smile. The food is always good, whether it is breakfast or lunch. The food is fresh, flavorful and good. My wife's favorite is the veggie omlette and I mix it up.You cannot go wrong eating here and will leave with a smile on your face.
We were visiting my father in law and he wanted to go to Village Cafe for breakfast.Pros:Parking was very easy.Short wait but they had coffee set out for those who were waiting. The staff was VERY friendly.Food:I got the Chili Verde Special my wife got the Machaca. We were both disappointed. The first thing i noticed was that my food was not hot, and the dish was lacking substance. It felt very runny and not very good. I got tortillas with mine and I sort of tried to use that to safe the day.My wife didnt seem happy with her machaca so I tried some of it. The meat was not seasoned at all, dry and the dish was very bland. I like the homey, neighborhood feel of this restaurant but the two dishes that I tried were pretty disappointing, especially after two staff members raved about them.Staff is def 4-5 starsFoods is more like a 2
First time here. A very busy cafe and good food. Chili verde omlette best. Machaca not as good
Exceptional place with good food and excellent staff ...little paradise
Me and my old lady (grandma) love this place. The food is home made and fresh and the staff is unbelievably nice. My grandmother loves to talk and they are very patient with her, Paul the owner is my grandmothers favorite. I think he gets so many customers because hes so charming with the grandmothers. I haven't met and elderly woman who doesn't absoluty love him. Great place overall
We love the food, the cozy positive atmosphere, and the friendly staff!
I went in for lunch and the staff greeted me warmly. I seated myself since it wasn't busy. The waitress attended to me quickly and suggested if I wanted curly fries. I did get the curly fries. The chicken club I ordered was tasty. They accept cash and debit. Head on down and enjoy the good grub.
Great food great service.
They have the best ice tea. Their tuna melts are very yummy. But I am not a fan of their onion rings(not a fan of their breading. It gets mushy quick). My husband likes their breakfast burritos and their fresh spicy salsa.
Very hommie great food
One of the better brunch spots in Lakewood. Staff are friendly and food are decent.
Good food, great atmosphere. I think it is usually crowded on weekends for breakfast, but I seem to luck out and get a seat right away.
Wife and I first time here. We both got one of the daily specials. I got the Chile verde omelette, it was really flavorful, great chile flavor but not very spicy. My wife got the flat iron steak, the steak was good. Their home fries and nice and tender. The coffee is excellent as well. We got here early on Sunday about 8 it wasn't bad, no wait. By the time we left at 9 there was quite a wait.
The food is delicious and the people there are friendly and very attentive. I recommend it
Good food. I ordered the California omelette and it was very good. Friendly service.
Great breakfast with my friend Mary!!!Katt and crew are amazing!!!! Delicious food, great outdoor atmosphere and perfection when it comes service!
Had the bacon, cheddar, tomato omelette. BTC. Delish. Great service. Will be back.
Great food and great people. Social distancing was in place and everyone was respecting the rules.
Great breakfast, good prices, very nice staff. I love the 2-2-2 (2 pancake, 2eggs and 2 pieces of meat bacon, sausage, or turkey bacon) with their delicious jam instead of syrup. They have coffee outside for you to fix it your self while you wait. Good food.
The pumpkin pancakes (a special) happily were thin like crepes. We also liked the chicken artichoke skillet special. French toast was standard. The home fries arrived at room temperature and cooled quickly. Other than the pumpkin pancakes the other pancakes were regular and blueberry. I would have liked some more creativity, but Village Cafe isn't that kind of place.
Me and my family have been regulars here since its opening...they make you feel like you came to breakfast at your best friends house. The menu isnt huge which is great because what they do offer is above and beyond delicious. The food is always so fresh and they make there own jams ans jellies along eith some great home made salsas. Must try they never dissappoint
The food was really good and the waitress was great. The only negative was the air conditioning wasn't working properly and it was way too warm in the cafe.
I absolutely love this restaurant. The owner is very easy to talk to and always makes it a point to "touch" every table. ( touch= meaning to stop and ask how everyone/thing is doing/ tasting). The waitstaff is always on top of you order a d making sure your glass/cup is never empty. I just can't say enough GREAT things about this lovely, small, local restaurant.
I've dined at the Village cafe for the past 15 years. Ownership change has really deteriorated the quality of food unfortunately. Best of luck.
Excellent food but small place, always a wait to be seated but worth the wait. Pancakes and omelettes are spectacular. Very friendly staff. Good coffee. Cozy place
I Had a Turkey club wit sweet potato fries and it waa so fresh and delicious. Loved it !

Good food. Friendly service.
Nice little place in Lakewood in the triangle. It used to be there cow palace. Great food. Great staff. Friendly.. My breakfast companion knew the staff and other people dining there. It was very good and nice price too. I recommend it. Although because of social distancing..we had to wait at least 30 mins before we could get a table..but it was worth it. The waitress was always there to top off my coffee.
